Aaliyah - Treasure Trap - Fairy Tales It's about two girls who find a fairy who grants them seven wishes.
Eliza - The Running Dream - about a girl who loves running and who has her leg amputated and how she learns to run again.
Eli - Where the Red Fern Grows - a boy who wants hunting dogs, saves up his money to get them and their adventures hunting.
Mrs. Williams Projekt 1065 WW2 book son of an Irish ambassador to Germany - he has to become part of the Hitler Youth to help the other side of the war.
Mr. Franz Dune - Science Fiction - alternate universe - planet covered in sand - prince who has his kingdom stolen and he is trying to get it back.
Marley - A Long Walk to Water - a boy who lives in Sudan- his school gets bombed - he has to leave to go to a refugee camp - he is in search of family.
Remy - A Waste of Space - Stuart Gibbs - science fiction about the first moon colonists on the main character's birthday.  The moon base's air system is not working well, and he gets involved with this and a murder mystery.
Charlotte - Spooked - Nonfiction- A company who makes a radio broadcast about Martians coming to Earth (The War of the Worlds)  People think it is real and they evacuate. 
Boone - Greta Thunberg - a collection of her speeches.  She is a 13 year old from Sweden, fighting for Climate Control.
Mac - The Lost Hero Rick Riordan
Josh - Williawah - about a storm (hurricane) Father went on a fishing trip - kids are left are there own and have to make choices.
August - Charlie Thorn and the Last Equation by Stuart Gibbs - Charlie is recruited by the CIA because she very smart - made a computer file and sent it to a company - who made it their own.  She hacks their website and steals $40,0000.  They have to find an equation to find....
Julia Cyr - Friend (something) - a girl who no one would talk to gets friends
Zoe - 39 Clue Series - 2 kids who at their grandmother's funeral learn they are related to the most powerful people in the world - search around the world to find 39 clues to give them ultimate power

Lexi - Ghost - graphic novel Raina Telmeir Girl who sister is terminally ill.  They move to a new town where there are a lot of ghosts.
Miley - Divergent - intense post apocalyptic
Maddy - White bird - graphic novel - about a girl - similar to Wonder - Julian in Wonder is telling this story about her youth WW2 book in Germany (?)
Tessa - Ready Player One Set in the future (2045) The Earth is not great - everyone lives in the Internet - Virtual - James creates a huge game that hunts for an Easter egg.  The first person to get the egg wins his money
Levi, Mrs. Williams Project 1065 by Alan Gratz - WW2 novel
Spy School Secret Service - non- stop action
Brody - Phantom Tollbooth - very good - he thinks every thing is boring - he goes to a magical world where he has to rescue Rhyme and Reason.
Gabe, Tessa - His Dark Materials - Golden Compass - Lyra - she has a magical compass and she is on a rescue mission to Lord Asriel  In this world, they have an animal / daemon which is their soul
Macy - Percy Jackson series - The Titan's Curse - read the whole series.  About a kid / demigod named Percy Jackson who kills monsters
Julia Cisz - The Seventh Wish - A girl goes ice fishing and catches a magical fish, wishes don't work out so good.
Laini - Mogo, the Third Warthog - Mogo is a warthog and gets kicked out of his burrow (he was too old) and he learns to live on his own.
Colin - Classroom Atlas - nonfiction - it is about maps - he would recommend this because you can learn about cultures around the world.

Nimona - A graphic novel of shapeshifters.  Finalist for the National Book Award.
 Treasure Hunters - a series of adventures which take place on a ship.  The characters are trying to find their parents.
The Whida - A book about a ship off the coast of Cape Cod
A Storm too Soon - An adventure where a group of people are sailing from North Carolina to Europe.  They encounter a huge storm
Copper - a good book of short stories
Beware of the Ninja Weenies - another good book of short stories
Out of Left Field - This is about a girl who gets cut from Little League because she is a girl.
